Hercules Candy's Snack Clubs Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Pretzel rods

  • Peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)

  • Powdered Sugar

  • Chocolate chips (milk, dark, or white)

  • Potato chips (your favorite kind)

Equipment:

  • Microwave-safe bowl or double boiler

  • Fork or spoon

  • Baking sheet

  • Parchment paper

  • Microwave

Steps:

  1. Prepare the Baking Sheet:

    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. This will prevent the pretzel rods from sticking.

  2. Melt the Chocolate:

    • Place the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl.

    • Heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until completely melted and smooth. Be careful not to overheat.

  3. Combine Peanut Butter And Sugar

    1. Place the Peanut Butter and Powdered sugar in a microwave-safe bowl.

    2. Heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until completely melted and smooth. Be careful not to overheat.

  4. Coat the Pretzel Rods:

    • Take a pretzel rod and dip it into the peanut butter/powdered sugar mixture, using a fork or spoon to ensure an even coat. Leave about an inch at the bottom uncoated for easy handling.

    • Shake off any excess peanut butter and place the rod on the prepared baking sheet.

  5. Chocolate Layer:

    • Using a spoon, spread melted chocolate over the chocolate-covered portion of the pretzel rod, covering as much as you prefer.

    • You can also dip the pretzel rod back into the chocolate for a thicker layer.

  6. Crush the Potato Chips:

    • Place your potato chips in a plastic bag and crush them into smaller pieces using a rolling pin or your hands. Aim for a mix of sizes for texture.

  7. Add the Potato Chips:

    • While the chocolate is still cooling, roll the crushed potato chips over the pretzel rod, pressing gently to help them stick.

  8. Cool the Pretzel Rods:

    • Allow the pretzel rods to sit at room temperature until the chocolate and peanut butter set, or place them in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes to speed up the process.

  9. Enjoy:

    • Once set, your pretzel rods are ready to be enjoyed! Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature.

Tips:

  • Experiment with different flavors of potato chips for unique taste combinations.

  • For an extra touch, consider drizzling additional melted chocolate over the top before adding the potato chips.

Kris

Kris learned how to preserve food from her grandmother back when she was 6 years old. Grandma would always have Kris right next to her in the kitchen letting her peel and chop and preserve food out of their 2-acre back yard garden.

Nowadays, Kris uses the techniques she learned from Grandma to fix her gut health, preserve her own food out of her back yard garden, and provide preservative free food to her family and friends.
