Homemade BBQ Sauce

We had old tomato sauce that we wanted to get rid of so we decided to turn it into BBQ sauce instead of making a run to the store.

First thing is to reduce all of the tomato sauce down to a thick consistency. You have a little leeway here and can modify the thickness however you see fit for your own BBQ sauce end product.

This day we did several different recipes. Below you will find the links to my inspirations.

Chipotle BBQ Sauce - Couldn’t find the link. Listed Ingredients below

Sweet BBQ Sauce - https://cookingformysoul.com/homemade-sweet-bbq-sauce/#recipe

Smokey BBQ Sauce - https://cleancookingcaitlin.com/hickory-smoked-bbq-sauce/

Biggest thing about BBQ Sause making is just have fun with it and make it the way you like it! Sky is the limit with BBQ sauce.

Chipotle BBQ Sauce:

  • 1 cup ketchup

  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

  • 1/4 cup honey or brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoons chipotle powder

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • Optional: 1 tablespoon mustard for a tangy kick

    Have fun and Enjoy!
